SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. – The Sweet Briar College IHSA team placed third today in its second-straight day of action at the University of Mary Washington with 13 top-three finishes.
A total of six Vixen riders captured victories in their respective classes, including senior
Sarah Southard (Culpeper, Va.) whose first-place finish in intermediate flat marked her second-straight win in the class.
Juniors
Ash Burnett (Smyrna, Del.),
Cassie McCabe (Millsboro, Del.) and
Marran Vansickle (Powhatan, Va.) and sophomore
Cameron Fox (Williamsburg, Va.) added to the Sweet Briar's first-place finish totals with their performances in limit fences, novice flat, intermediate flat and intro, respectively.
Sophomore
Sarah Pastula (Rockford, Mich.) came second in limit fences while another second-place finish was secured by junior
Emily Roberts (Goochland, Va.) in limit flat.
Third-place finishes were secured by senior
Katelyn Jones (Richmond, Texas) in intermediate fences, juniors
Sarah Arjoon (Baltimore, Md.) in pre-novice and
Katherine Atherton (Montpelier, Va.) in open fences and sophomores
Audrey Flattich (Statesboro, Ga.) in open flat and
Caitlyn Uimari (Marquette, Mich.) in novice flat.
Vansickle also competed in the intermediate fences class and finished the day with a fifth-place finish while sophomore
Leah Partington (Richmond, Va.) placed fifth in novice flat and Roberts saw a sixth-place finish in limit fences to round out action on the day.

- Sophomore Maggie Booth (Marietta, Ga.) placed fourth in both open flat and open fences.
