SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College lacrosse team (2-3) dropped its home contest against the Pfeiffer University Falcons (3-4, 0-0 USA South) today by a score of 15-3.
The Falcon offense started heating up after a scoreless first five minutes of play with four straight goals to close out the first quarter.
However, the Vixens answered back with tallies from sophomore
Ashley Prevet (Nesconset, N.Y.) on the woman-up opportunity and junior
Valen Foster (Bushwood, Md.) to cut the lead in half.
Another four-goal run from Pfeiffer increased the goal deficit for Sweet Briar to six before junior
Trista Cleaves (Millville, N.J.) found the back of the net with her sixth of the season to bring the score to 8-3.
The second half of play was all Falcons as the away team scored seven unanswered for the 15-3 victory.
In goal, senior
Kat Navarro (Carlsbad, Calif.) totaled a season-high 16 saves.
Highlights
- Cleaves also earned an assist on Foster's second quarter goal while leading the team with five draw controls.
- Senior Jamison Tarver (Kingwood, Texas) totaled a game-high seven ground balls and four caused turnovers.

The Vixens will head to Waynesburg for action on March 9th.
