BUENA VISTA, Va. – The No. 49 Sweet Briar College tennis team (17-1, 8-0 ODAC) handed an 8-1 loss to the Southern Virginia University Knights (13-2, 6-1 USA South) on the road this afternoon.
The Vixens started the match off strong with a win in all three doubles matches. The duo of A. Guilarte/Patino battled to an 8-7 (7-5) victory at the No. 1 spot while both Caro/I. Guilarte and Caracciolo/van Eekelen won their matches by a score of 8-5 at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, respectively.
In singles play, senior
Isabela Guilarte (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) took down Lydia Delich, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 while sophomore
Alex Guilarte (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) defeated Jillian Arnold at No. 3 by set scores of 6-2, 6-2.
Junior
Maria Caro was dominant in her victory at No. 3 with a 6-3, 6-1 win against Remly Fry.
Both first-years
Juli Caracciolo (Los Cardales, Argentina) and
Isadora Lima (Natal Brazil) won their matches as well with Caracciolo taking home a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 5 and Lima continuing her undefeated streak thanks to a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 6.

- Lima now improves to 12-0 in spring action.
What's Next
The Vixens will have back-to-back nationally-ranked matchups at No. 46 Averett on April 20th and against No. 21 Washington and Lee on April 21st.
