Lacrosse Plays Last Road Contest of 2024

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Sweet Briar College lacrosse team (2-10) contested its last road game of the season today, falling to the Cedar Crest College Falcons (8-4 1-3 UEC) by a score of 13-3.
 
Cedar Crest dominated the scorecard from the beginning with nine straight goals scored through the first quarter of action and into the second.
 
Junior Valen Foster (Bushwood, Md.) got the Vixens on the board with 6:24 remaining in the first half to bring the score to 9-1.
 
The Falcons tallied three more goals before junior Trista Cleaves (Millville, N.J.) found the back of the net to change the score to 12-2 heading into halftime.
 
Only one goal was scored by either the team in the third quarter, with Sweet Briar's tally coming from Foster for her second of the day.
 
The game concluded following the third with a score at 13-3 in favor of the home team.
 
Highlights
  • Sophomore Liz Carr (Charlottesville, Va.) registered the assist on Foster's first goal for her second assist and third point of the season.
  • Both first-year Lizzie Mehl (Richmond Hill, Ga.) and junior Ashley Maggiora (Hollister, Calif.) saw time in goal with Mehl earning five saves.
 
What's Next
The Vixens will wrap up the 2024 season tomorrow at Meyer Field against Trinity Washington.
