CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Sweet Briar College field hockey team (1-3, 0-0 ODAC) were shut out by the Wilson College Phoenix (3-1, 0-0 UEC) this afternoon, falling by a score of 1-0.
The lone goal of the game came with just five minutes remaining into the first quarter of play as the Phoenix successfully converted on a penalty corner.
In goal, senior
Ashley Maggiora (Hollister, Calif.) totaled nine saves through 54:50 minutes of action while first-year
Trinity Towe (Chesapeake, Va.) had one save in a little over five minutes in goal.
The team took what we've been talking about all week and applied it. They solved problems, showed creativity and flexibility and next-level hunger. I am proud of the showing today. We are ready for our home opened!
