WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Sweet Briar College soccer team (3-2-0, 0-0-0 ODAC) earned the season sweep over the Trinity Washington University Tigers (0-6-0) this evening thanks to a 4-0 victory on the road.
The Vixens amassed 23 shots in the first half of play, however, the game remained scoreless after the first 45 minutes.
Less than 10 minutes into the second half of play, first-year
Electra Mcpherson (Madison Heights, Va.) got Sweet Briar on the board off an assist from junior
Lanie Vuick (Murphy, N.C.).
First-year
Yadira Castrejon (Connelly Springs, N.C.) followed Mcpherson's goal up with a pair of her own at the 58:09 and 67:54 marks to increase the team's lead to three.
Sophomore
Alexis Diaz (Connelly Springs, N.C.) tallied the Vixens' fourth of the game off a free kick from senior
Jillian Lewis (Ellicott City, Md.) to seal the victory.
