SALEM, Va. – The Sweet Briar College cross country team saw four runners achieve new personal-best times at today's Roanoke XC Invitational.
First-year
Elaina Sherline (Morehead City, N.C.) led the way for the Vixens, crossing the finish line at the 28:05.6 mark to place 144th.
Fellow first-years
Shiloh Thompson (Ruckersville, Va.) and
Ella Cate Johnson (Henderson, N.C.) recorded times of 28:48.1 and 30:32.3, respectively.
Rounding out the field for Sweet Briar was junior
Amanda Costa (Watertown, N.Y.), who completed the 6k in 30:39.8.
Highlights
- Johnson, Sherline and Thompson all shaved off around one to two minutes from their previous best times.
- Costa made the biggest time jump with a new PR that is over five minutes faster than her previous best.
What's Next
The Vixens will compete in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships on Nov. 1st.
