LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Sweet Briar College volleyball team (0-18) competed in two matches today against the Randolph Wildcats (9-14, 2-6 ODAC) and the Regent University Royals (13-7).
The Vixens fell to the Wildcats, 3-0, with set scores of 25-4, 25-10, and 25-8 and to the Royals, 3-0, with set scores of 25-5, 25-7 and 25-9.
vs Randolph
In the opening set, Sweet Briar struggled to find offensive rhythm, registering only one kill by senior
Clara Delattre (Long Lake, Minn.). Senior
Davis Shiflett (Louisa, Va.) kept pressure with two digs, and junior libero
Gracyn Wright (Rock Hill, S.C) was steady in serve receive.
During the second set, junior
Emily Roberts (Walkertown, N.C.) and sophomore
Mila Mutabdzija (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) managed one kill each, while senior
Stella Ball (Salt Lake City, Utah) had her best attacking sequence with six attempts.
The final set saw Randolph control play, but there were notable moments from Sweet Briar. Ball earned a kill, while Mutabdzija and Roberts demonstrated versatility by contributing both offensively and defensively. Wright anchored the serve receive for all three sets, showing consistency in a tough matchup.
vs Regent
Opening the match against Regent, Delattre led the Vixens with three kills on eight swings. Ball and Hunt contributed with kills, and Roberts added two assists, supporting the team's scoring efforts. Shiflett anchored the back row with seven digs, keeping several points alive.
In the second set Delattre and Roberts each managed several assists. Shiflett made key contributions on defense, collecting three more digs.
In the third set, Sweet Briar rallied for their best offensive showing of the day. Roberts was particularly active with three kills and two blocks, while Hunt provided two digs and a block for added defensive stability.

- Delattre registered a hitting percentage of .500 against Randolph, which tied her season high.
- Seven different Vixens registered a kill between the two matches.
