ASHLAND, Va. / TOANO, Va. – The Sweet Briar College IHSA team concluded another weekend of back-to-back shows, this time seeing action at Randolph-Macon College and the College of William & Mary.

The Vixens started the weekend off with action in Ashland on Saturday.
First-year
Josie Flannery (Orange, Va.) took first place in open fences while also finishing fourth in open flat. Eight Sweet Briar riders saw second-place finishes as first-year
Sadie Swift (Leonardtown, Md.) competed in open flat, senior
Sarah Pastula (Rockford, Mich.) in intermediate fences, junior
Rory Breglio (Parker, Colo.) in intermediate fences, sophomore
Tori Rosen (Collegeville, Pa.) in limit flat, first-years
Tessa Hawks (Ashland, Va.) in limit flat and
Sophia Peterson (Ashland, Va.) novice, senior
Leah Partington (Richmond, Va.) in novice and junior
Kendel Wickline (Frederick, Md.) in pre-novice.
An additional top-three finish was secured by junior
Madeleine Gardephe (New York, N.Y.), who placed third in introductory.
at William & Mary
On Sunday, the Vixens were crowned High Point Team in action at William & Mary. Hawks was named High Point Rider after first-place finishes in limit flat and limit fences, while Swift earned Reserve High Point Rider honors thanks to first places in open flat and open fences.
Pastula and fellow senior
Evelyn Clark (Crofton, Md.) also topped their respective classes of intermediate flat and limit fences.
Flannery placed second in both open flat and open fences, while Pastula also earned an additional second-place finish in intermediate fences.
Wickline saw a third-place finish in pre-novice and Gardephe once again secured third in introductory.
Highlights
- Swift has qualified for her first Regionals appearance in open flat.
- Sunday's show marks the first High Point Rider nod of Hawks' career.
What's Next
The Vixens will next compete in the new year with back-to-back shows at Mary Washington on Feb. 7th and 8th.
