SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The No. 2 single discipline Sweet Briar College NCEA team (4-2, 3-1 ODAC) took down the No. 1 single discipline Lynchburg University Hornets (4-3, 2-1 ODAC) at the Harriet Howell Rogers Riding Center this afternoon, winning on a raw score total of 849 – 842 after coming to a 5-5 tie.
The meet started with action over fences as the Vixens earned two points thanks to junior
Maggie Booth (Marietta, Ga.) and senior
Isabelle Mesiarik (Pottstown, Pa.).
Booth scored an 80 on Phantom to beat Abigail Zemp by two points while Mesiarik's score of 82 on Chico bested her opponent Emma Schweizer's score by six points.
However, with Lynchburg taking three points in fences competition, Sweet Briar had to battle back on the flat to take the victory.

Wyette Felton (Canton, Ga.) were the point scorers for the Vixens on the flat as Booth totaled a 92 on Mydas, 10 points more than Lynchburg's Fallyn Belcastro and Mesiarik earned a 92 as well on Jakson to take down Schweizer by five points.
Felton came away with a seven-point margin of victory over Kristin Palmer thanks to her score of 88 on Emmett.
With both teams tied at five, Sweet Briar came away with the victory thanks to its raw score of 849 topping Lynchburg's 842.

- Booth was crowned Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) on the flat.
- Both Booth and Mesiarik are the first Vixens to score in the 90s so far this season.
