SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College lacrosse team (0-3, 0-0 ODAC) fell to the Southern Virginia University Knights (3-2, 0-0 USA South) at Thayer Field this evening in the team's final non-conference game of the season.
The Knights took control of the scoring through the first quarter of play, notching eight goals in the first fifteen minutes of action.
Two more goals from the visitors gave them the 10-0 lead with just over 11 minutes of play in the first half.
Junior
Victoria Schofield (Towson, Md.) got the Vixens on the board at the nine-minute mark of the second quarter off a pass from senior
Trista Cleaves (Millville, N.J.) to bring the score to 10-1.
Three additional goals by Southern Virginia gave them the 13-1 lead heading into halftime.
Play started to slow down in the second half with the Knights tallying five goals in the third quarter and only two in the fourth.
With less than 30 seconds on the clock, first-year
Elise Palazzo (Allentown, Pa.) scored the final goal of the game to bring it to a 20-2 close.

Geneva Seitz (Havre de Grace, Md.) totaled nine saves.
Highlight
- Schofield has scored at least one goal in all three of Sweet Briar's games so far this season.
- Senior Jamison Tarver (Kingwood, Texas) led the team with three caused turnovers while Seitz picked up five ground balls.
What's Next
The Vixens will begin conference play at Bridgewater on March 19th before hosting EMU on March 21st.
