GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Sweet Briar College lacrosse team (0-12, 0-9 ODAC) contested its final road game of the 2025 season at the Guilford College Quakers (5-11, 2-7 ODAC) today, falling by a score of 24-3.
The Quakers took control of the first half of play with 15 straight goals through the first 30 minutes of action.
With less than a minute remaining in the second quarter, first-year
Elise Palazzo (Allentown, Pa.) got the Vixens on the board to bring the score to 15-1.
Guilford tallied the first goal of the second half before senior
Valen Foster (Bushwood, Md.) found the back of the net for her 15th of the season to cut the home team's lead to 14 goals.
Two more goals by the Quakers to close out the third quarter put them up 18-2 with 15 minutes left in regulation.
Foster opened up scoring in the fourth quarter off a pass from junior
Ashley Prevet (Nesconset, N.Y.), however, Guilford tallied the final six goals of the game to take the 24-3 victory.
Both senior
Ashley Maggiora (Hollister, Calif.) and sophomore
Lizzie Mehl (Richmond Hill, Ga.) saw time in goal.
Highlights
- First-year Kayla Nuhl (Hayward, Calif.) earned her first collegiate point with an assist on Foster's third-quarter goal.
- Mehl registered a season-high seven saves during her 53:33 minutes of action in goal.
What's Next
The Vixens will conclude the 2025 season at home against Virginia Wesleyan on April 23rd.
