VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Sweet Briar College golf team closed out its first team competition of the year with an eighth-place finish at the Anita Hobson Invitational.
The team combined for a score of 401 in round one and 421 in round two to finish with a two-day total of 822 (+246).
Junior
Isabella Peregrine (Liberty, Mo.) led the way for the Vixens, finishing in a tie for 13th. Peregrine shot an 83 (+11) on day one and finished with a score of 88 (+16) for a total score of 171 (+27).
Next on the leaderboard was fellow junior
Kailei Minter (Martinsville, Va.), whose total score of 189 (+45) stemmed from a 94 (+22) yesterday and a 95 (+23) today.
Junior
Kendel Wickline shot a 102 (+30) while in action yesterday and finished her time at Cypress Point with a 117 (+45) today to bring her two-day total to 219 (+75).
Sophomore
Reiyn Hart (Bridgton, Maine) left the course yesterday with a score of 122 (+50) and dropped one stroke today (121, +49), to wrap up the invitational with a score of 243 (+99).
The biggest improvement during the two days of action came at the hands of sophomore
Tori Rosen (Collegeville, Pa.). Rosen shot a 153 (+81) through day one of competition, but dropped her score down to 134 (+62) to total a 287 (+143).
Highlights
- Peregrine nabbed the only birdie for the Vixens over the tournament with a three on the Par-4 12th hole yesterday.
- Both Hart and Rosen competed in their first collegiate events for Sweet Briar.

The Vixens will get right back to it this weekend with action at The Ruckus, March 21st-22nd, at the Williamsburg National Golf Club in Williamsburg, Va.
