SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College tennis team (1-7, 1-4 ODAC) dropped a 6–1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) decision to the No. 15 Washington and Lee Generals (13-1, 7-0 ODAC) on Tuesday afternoon at the Van Der Meer Tennis Center.
The Vixens' point came at No. 6 singles, where sophomore
Gianna Guadagno (Huntington Beach, Calif.) was credited with a win. At the same time, Sweet Briar also secured a victory at third doubles behind the pairing of seniors
Atty Bestwick (Durham, N.C.) and
Megan Vess (Goodview, Va.).
In singles play, Sweet Briar battled but fell in straight sets on courts one through five, with seniors
Alex Guilarte (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and
Lucia Bovard (Mount Pleasant, N.C.), junior
Maggie Minton (Wytheville, Va.), Bestwick and sophomore
Ari Venturi (Richmond, Va.) each coming up short against a deep Generals lineup. Guadagno earned a win by default in the lower half of the lineup with her result on court six to get Sweet Briar on the board.
In doubles, Guilarte and Bovard at No. 1 and the team of Minton and Venturi at No. 2 were unable to overcome early breaks as W&L clinched the doubles point with 6–0 and 6–1 decisions. Bestwick and Vess were also handed a win by default on court three.

- Guilarte took three games from her Generals opponent for the second time in her career.
- Sweet Briar earned one point against Washington and Lee for the first time since 2023.
