VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Sweet Briar College volleyball team (0-10, 0-2 ODAC) was overcome by the Batten University Marlins (12-1, 1-0 ODAC) on the road this evening, falling in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-4, and 25-12.
In the first set Sweet Briar opened with its best offensive stretch of the match and was able to keep the score competitive through much of the early action. First-year

Nadia Bingham (Chesapeake, Va.), and sophomore
Rachael Hunt (Willow Spring, N.C.) all recorded a kil in the set. Despite the early push from the Vixens, Batten pulled away with the 25-15 decision.
Sweet Briar registered one kill from first year
Allie de Moet (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) in the second set. However, Batten was able to seize the momentum from the first set to take the second set 25-4.
Sweet Briar regrouped in the third set and improved its offensive production, matching its first-set total with three kills, registered by Cox and Bingham. The Vixens continued to compete defensively and made several plays in the back row, but Batten closed the match with a 25-12 final-set win.

- Sophomore Jaelyn Wood (Charlottesville, Va.) led the team with eight digs.
- Cox led the team with three kills.
- Sophomore Yeriam Alyah Dávila Gerena (Rîo Grande, Puerto Rico) led the team with four assists.
What's Next
The Vixens will travel to Greensboro N.C. on Sept. 26th to compete in a tri-match against Greensboro College and Methodist University.
