The Sweet Briar tennis team met up with the College of Wooster
today at Hilton Head Island, S.C. to complete their spring training
competitions. The Vixens went two for three with wins against
Richard Stockton College (N.J.) yesterday (6-3), and today's
win against the College of Wooster, 5-4.
The Vixens held with the game plan of working hard on strategy
and tactics and it paid off for them as a team. “We know we
need to practice certain strategies under pressure and that
was what I wanted the team to work on in both singles and doubles
during this spring trip. They executed when they needed to
and stayed focused and confident during some trying tie-breakers
and a few long matches. Overall, I feel it was a very
successful week and I believe this team will attain our team goals
as we continue our season,” said head coach Teresa Boylan.
The Vixen tennis team will return to conference action on March
26 and 27 when they travel to Guilford College and Emory &
Henry.
