GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Sweet Briar College tennis team saw three student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2026 Academic All-District Women's Division III Tennis Team, the organization announced May 12th.
Named to the team were seniors
Atty Bestwick (Durham, N.C.) and
Alex Guilarte (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and junior
Maggie Minton (Wytheville, Va.).
Bestwick contested a total of 12 matches for the Vixens during the dual season, primarily at No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles. The North Carolina native earned a smooth 6-0, 6-1 win against Jade Thompson of Hollins on March 19th.
Guilarte, recently named to the All-ODAC Second Team in both singles and doubles, picked up seven wins at the No. 1 singles flight while amassing nine wins at No. 1 doubles. The Venezuela native earned six of her seven wins against conference opponents.
Minton held the best record out of any Vixen this spring, going 10-4 at No. 3 singles and picking up three wins at No. 2 doubles. Notable wins for the junior this season included victories against five conference opponents, including hard-fought victories over Virginia Wesleyan on April 11th and Randolph on April 17th.
This marks the second CSC honor for Guilarte and the first for Bestwick and Minton.
