The Sweet Briar College Tennis Vixens hosted the Wildcats of cross-town and conference rivals Randolph College on Friday, April 2. The Vixens (11-3 overall, 6-2 ODAC) continue their team's success with a win of 7-2 over Randolph College.

Senior Virginia Edahl (Charlotte, N.C.) and first-year Moriah Burke (Rockville, Mary.) continue their win-streak at first doubles with another season victory, making them the Sweet Briar College career record holders of most wins by a doubles team in a season with a 17-4 record. Edahl and Burke also won handily at their first and second singles positions respectively. (Scores posted below).

The third doubles team of senior Leslie Polaski (Monroe, Va.) and first-year player Ann Roach (North Oaks, Minn.) played some determined doubles to take their team point.

Vixen players across the line-up contributed solidly for the team win under some unseasonably warm playing conditions with temperatures in the high 80's. Sophomore Krista Maldonado played a dominating baseline game at the third singles position. Glory Bowman ('13/Roanoke, Va.) had a hard-fought battle and won at her fourth singles position.  Julia Green ('13/Vancouver, Wash.) held to her game plan of consistent play at the sixth singles position.

The only losses for the Vixens vs. Randolph were the duo of junior Ebie Baker (Farmville, Va.) and first-year Sarah Manter (Brunswick, Maine) at second doubles and at the fifth singles position played by sophomore Ellen Reid (Germanton, N.C.). 

The Vixens will host Southern Virginia University on Monday at 4:30pm for the last home match for the season.
