The Vixen tennis team hosted the Hornets of Lynchburg College today and produced a solid victory, 8-1. The match started off with some unusual weather conditions of high winds and some sprinkles that forced the teams indoors to the courts at Upchurch Field House. 

Unfortunately, the high winds played havoc on some electrical lines and power was out in the Field House, delaying the start of the match.  With the winds seeming to die down, the teams started their doubles outside. The calm was short-lived and the teams settled back to the indoor courts where power had been restored.

The Vixens swept the doubles, 3-0. Singles went to the Vixens 5-1 with courts 1 through 5 all winning in straight sets.

"This team is very focused on what they want to accomplish this season. Each player on this team is taking care their court, and today was the start of that focused playing.  I look forward to seeing this strong play continue throughout our season," said head coach Teresa Boylan.
