The Vixen softball team traveled to Guilford College on Sunday afternoon to play the Quakers. The Quakers got on the board first in game 1, but Mandi Catlett ('14/ Spotsylvania, VA) would get the final say by getting a run in the 5th inning of game 2. Mandi's efforts were not enough in either game and the Vixens fell to Guilford in the first game 19-0, and 16-1 in the second.
Anna Newberg ('11/New Britain, CT) pitched the first game while teammate Christen Campbell ('12/ Appomattox, VA) started the game, but was releaved by senior Jordan Pugh (Nellysford, VA) who pitched 2 great innings not allowing a single run in the 2nd or 3rd innings, but allowed 3 in the 4th inning.
The Vixens are back in action on Wednesday April 13 when they host the Eagles of Brodgewater College. Game times are set at 4:30 and 6:30pm.
