Vixen lacrosse traveled to Bridgewater college on Wednesday afternoon to play the Eagles. The Vixens fought hard in the game coming up with 11 goals, 5 goals in the first half and 6 in the second. Sweet Briar won in ground balls with 18, went 6-7 in clear attempts, and had 12 turnovers in the game. The scoring effort was led by junior Sarah Winstead (Apex, NC) and sophomore Jessie Edington (Alexandria, VA) who each netted a hat trick in the loss. Although Jessie and Sarah fought hard, the Vixens fell to the Eagles 17-11.

Others who scored were DJ Abernathy ('11/Annadale, VA) with 2, Seanne Weekes (San Jose, CA) with 2, and Sam Schwartz ('13/ Pittsburgh, PA) with 1. First year keeper Megan Link (Great Falls, VA) made 9 saves in the effort.

The Vixens are back in action on Saturday April 16 when they head to Roanoke, game time is 1:00pm.
