The Sweet Briar College tennis Vixens hosted conference champions and nationally ranked Washington & Lee (#9) today on the Vixen courts. Although the Vixens lost this much anticipated match 1-8 against the Generals, they earned the top court singles victory from the Generals.

Ariel Taylor (#20) ('14/Springfield, Va.) defeated Lauren Lukas (#19) at the first singles court position by scores of 6-1, 6-3. "Ariel has the ability to play very high quality tennis, and it was on display here in her singles match today. She is a team player and has helped raise the quality of play of each player on this team in both practices and in match play. We are extremely happy for her success!, " said coach Boylan of the player's second win this year over a Washington & Lee opponent.

The Vixens will host the Wasps of Emory & Henry on Saturday at 1 pm, followed by a non-conference match-up with Southern Virginia University at 4 pm.  Sunday brings on the University of Mary Washington at 1 pm for a full weekend of tennis for the Vixens.
