Link Stands Tall

Vixen lacrosse traveled to Shenandoah University on Wednesday afternoon, the Vixens fought hard as a team but it was first year Megan Link (Great Falls, VA) who stood out in goal, Link turned in a 15 save effort and came away with the most ground balls for the Vixens with 5. Although Link stood tall the Vixens fell by a score of 18-2.

Two different Vixens put the ball in the cage. The first goal was scored by senior DJ Abernathy (Annandale, VA) who has consistantly been scoring the first goal of the game for the Vixens. Assisting DJ's goal is sophomore standout player Sam Schwartz (Pittsburgh, PA). The second goal was scored by sophomore Jessie Edington (Alexandria, VA).

The Vixens put in an effort of 6 shots, 17 ground balls, went 11-21 in clear attempts, and tallied 5 caused turnovers. Sweet Briar is back in action as they head to Virginia Wesleyan College on Saturday, game time is 4:00pm.
