GREENSBORO, N.C. --- Old Dominion Athletic Conference member Guilford College hosted the Vixen Softball team in Greensboro on Saturday, April 6. Both teams entered the doubleheader looking for a season's first league win.
Game 1 started with Guilford taking a three-run lead in the top of the first. The Quakers extended their lead in the bottom of the third to go up 4-0. The Vixen side got on the board in the top of the fourth to put the score at 4-1.
Neither team scored in the fifth, but a big run bottom of the sixth solidified the win for Guilford.
In Game 2, SBC fell behind earlier and could not recover as GC dashed out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first. Sweet Briar threatened to score in several innings, but could not plate a run. The Quakers took the 11-0 Game 2 win.
Sweet Briar returns to the friendly confines of the Vixen Softball for a doubleheader with Roanoke College on Sunday, April 7.
