Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. --- The Sweet Briar College tennis team traveled to Lexington for a mid-week match up with the Washington and Lee Generals. The contest with the Generals is the first Old Dominion Athletic Conference match of the season for SBC.
Washington and Lee grabbed the lead after doubles (3-0) and kept momentum through all six singles matches. SBC fell by the score of 9-0.
Two Vixens made season debutes. Juniors Allie Raifsnider (Concord, N.C./ Jay M. Robinson) and Sixtine Abrial (Paris, France/Princess Anne) got the call at the No. 4 and 6 spots respectively. On the match, Vixen head coach Teresa Boylan shared that even though the score favored WLU, "the team played well." Boylan and her team have a three day respite before their next trip. On Sunday, March 2, SBC heads east for a match with Virginia Wesleyan College.
The contest with the Marlins, in Norfolk, Va., is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
