Box Score 2 SWEET BRIAR, Va. --- Vixen tennis got back in the win column on Saturday afternoon as SBC posted an 8-1 victory over Ferrum College. A short-sided Panther squad put up a fight, but the Vixens were equal to the task. With the win, SBC improves to 3-5 on the season.
SBC's Glory Bowman (Roanoke, Va. / Patrick Henry) and Gina Rutledge (Germanton, N.C. / SouthStokes) dispatched their opponents (8-4) to earn the first Vixen point in doubles action. Georgia Kirkland (Columbia, S.C./Rabuns Gap) and Madison Mills (Oakley, Calif./Oakley) collected a win by default in the No. 3 doubles pairing.
On the singles side Megan Johnston (Powhatan, Va. / Powhatan) , Rutledge, Allie Raifsnider (Concord, N.C. / Jay M. Robinson) and Bowman each contributed a point to earn the team's third win on the season. Kirkland and Mills collected wins by default at the fifth and sixth singles positions.
The Vixens play one more match on Saturday against the visiting Pacers of William Peace University.
