Tennis Splits Singles, But Guilford Gets Win

GREENSBORO, N.C. --- On Saturday, March 29, Sweet Briar tennis squared off with the Guilford College Quakers. Due to stormy weather, the match was hosted by Guilford at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center in Greensboro.

Although Sweet Briar split singles results with Guilford, a strong Quaker showing in doubles competition solidified the 6-3 GC win. Caitlin Delmas (Asheville, N.C. / K-12 International Academy), Glory Bowman (Roanoke, Va. / Patrick Henry) and Gina Rutledge (Germanton, N.C. / South Stokes) each contributed a point in the match.

With the loss, the SBC tennis record moves to 3-7 overall and 1-3 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action.

SBC was originally scheduled to play at Emory & Henry College on Sunday, March 30. Steady rain with possible snow showers on the way in southwest Virginia have forced a postponement. A make up date has not yet been determined.
