SWEET BRIAR, Va. --- On a beautiful spring afternoon, the Sweet Briar College Vixens faced the Randolph College Wildacts in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference matchup.
Game one saw some great defensive plays. A beautiful double play was turned as well as some great line drive catches by junior Hollie Halford (Greenville, Ala. / Greenville) who plays at the hot corner.
In game two, first-year Kayla Dooms (Piney River, Va. /Nelson) stretched out and made a terrific defensive play at first base to recrod a crucial out. The Vixens were outscored in both games, 9-0 and 12-1.
After today's games, SBC is 4-17 overall and 0-12 in the ODAC. The Vixens will travel to Shenandoah University on Sunday, April 13th to take on the Hornets. The game one first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Also this week the NCAA sponsored Division III Week begins. Through the next seven days, SBC along with DIII colleges and universities across the country are celebrating the student-athlete experience. Learn more about Why D3 here.
