Vixens Fall to Maroons in Last Day of CNU Quad Matches

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Sweet Briar's women's tennis closed out the CNU Quad Matches with an 8-1 loss to Roanoke Sunday in Newport News, Virginia.

The match started with singles matches and the Maroons won the match taking five of the six points then swept the three doubles for the 8-1 win.

The doubles duo of Caitlin Delmas (Asheville, N.C./K-12 International Academy) and Samantha Yew (Bronx, N.Y./New York City) fought hard against Emily Henderson and Reed Kegel as they lost 8-3 in No. 2 doubles.

Delmas claimed the Vixens only point at No. 1 singles – 6-4, 6-4 – against Henderson.

The Vixens return to the court in their home opener against Mary Baldwin, February 25, 2015, first serve is set for 4:30 p.m.
