Eagles Offense Too Much for Vixens Saturday

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Sweet Briar lacrosse team fell to Bridgewater 17-4 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference game Saturday at Jopson Field in Bridgewater, Virginia. 

The Vixens fall to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the ODAC while the Eagles improve to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference.

Bridgewater scored two unanswered goals before Allison McLamb tallied the first goal for the Vixens, with 25:39 left in the first half. The Eagles would score two more, before Reba Gagne would tally the final goal for SBC in the first half with 11:38 remaining. The Eagles would close out the first half with six goals to go into the locker room leading 10-2. 

The Vixens opened the second half with a goal as Genny Kelley and Dayze Gaulin connected to tally a goal with 27:37 left. Bridgewater scored seven goals before Allison Hassard scored the final goal of the game and for the Vixens for the final 17-4. 

The Vixens had seven caused turnovers in the first half, and had a total of 14 the whole game.

Sweet Briar returns to the field Tuesday, when they host Southern Virginia at 4:30 p.m. at Babcock Field in Sweet Briar, Va.
