Wildcats Too Much For Vixens

LYNCHBURG, Va. –The Sweet Briar softball team was defeated by Randolph in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference doubleheader, 8-0 and 12-4, Tuesday afternoon in Lynchburg, Virginia. 

The Vixens fall to 2-10 overall and 0-6 in the ODAC, while Randolph improves to 10-8 overall and 3-3 in the conference. 

In game one, Tessa Crawford had the lone hits for the Vixens as she had a single and double for the Vixens.

Cynthia Schuh took the loss in the circle for the Sweet Briar in game one and two. 

In game two the Vixens would put three runs on the scoreboard. Hollie Halford singled and advance to second on a throwing error by the second basemen, allowing Crawford to cross the plate. Next up to bat, Kayla Dooms would single to right field scoring Tosha Brown. Halford would score off a Nene Jones single and give SBC a 3-0 lead.

The Wildcats would then take a 4-3 lead and would tally, seven runs between the second and fourth innings. The Vixens were able to score one more run in the fourth, as the Wildcats went on to win 12-4. 

The Vixens return to the diamond when they return home and host Bridgewater in an ODAC doubleheader, first pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
