SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar lacrosse team fell to Guilford, 20-7, in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference game Saturday afternoon at Babcock Field in Sweet Briar, Virginia.

The Vixens fall to 4-6 overall and are now 1-2 in the ODAC while Guilford improves to 5-4 overall and 2-2 in the conference. 

Monica Ewansik struck first as she put the Vixens on the board with 26:20, before the Quakers scored eight unanswered goals. Ewansik would connect with Allison Hassard to pull the Vixens within six with 7:47 remaining in the half, 8-2. Guilford would score a goal with 5:40 remaining in the first half to go into the half leading 9-2.

Genny Kelley recorded a hat trick in the second half of the game, as Guilford went on for the 20-7 victory. 

Kelley had three goals in the loss, while Ewansik and Kelsey Barta each had an assist led the Vixens. 

Sweet Briar returns to the field Wednesday, April 1 when they travel to Virginia Wesleyan for an ODAC game at 5:00 p.m.
