SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar lacrosse team fell, 20-7, to Randolph-Macon College in their final home game of the year in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference game Saturday afternoon at Babcock Field in Sweet Briar, Virginia. 

Prior to the start of the game, the Vixen's recognized three seniors; Kelsey Barta, Allison Hassard and Kim Orchowski.

The Vixens fall to 4-11 overall on the season and are 1-7 in the ODAC, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 10-3 overall and 6-1 on the season. 

RMC tallied five unanswered goals before Orchowski and Leyte McNealus connected and McNealus got one past the pipes to pull the Vixens within four with 18:18 remaining in the first. Monica Ewansik tallied Sweet Briar's final goal of the first half with 12:21 before the Yellow Jackets notched five goals to close out the first half and go into halftime leading SBC 12-2.

Ewansik picked up where she left off, tallying two more goals in the second half, the first coming at the 26:36 mark and 14:57 marks. McNealus notched her second goal of the game to make it 17-5 with 8:41 remaining in the game. Ewansik completed her hat trick for the second half when she scored on a free position shot with 2:01 remaining. Reba Gagne recorded the final goal for the Vixens with 49 seconds remaining as RMC went on for the 20-7 victory.

Sweet Briar was led by Monica Ewansik with four goals, while Allison McLamb had seven caused turnovers and Kelsey Barta had five draw controls. 

The Vixens will be on the road for their remaining two games, they travel to Roanoke Wednesday when they play Hollins at 4:30 and close out the year at Lynchburg on Saturday, April 18 at 1:00.
