WINCHESTER, Va. – The Sweet Briar softball was swept by Shenandoah, 9-0 and13-0, in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference softball doubleheader Sunday afternoon, at Henkel-Harris Stadium in Winchester, Virginia.
The Vixens fall to 5-23 overall in the season and 0-18 in the ODAC, while Shenandoah improves to 9-19 overall and 7-11 in the conference.
In game one, Tessa Crawford had the lone hit for the Vixens, in the top of the third inning when she would single to shortstop, but would get out on a fielder's choice at third base.
Madison Bradley and Lisa Mitro each had two runs scored as Shenandoah blanked the Vixens 9-0 led the Hornets.
In game two, Amanda Terry had the lone hit for Sweet Briar, when she singled to left center and advanced Molly Langford to second, but the Vixens were unable to capitalize.
The Vixens close out the 2015 season on Saturday, April 18 when they host Eastern Mennonite in an ODAC doubleheader with the first pitch at 1:00 p.m. at Vixen Softball Field. Prior to the start of the game the team will recognize their seniors Tiffany Baker and Hollie Halford.
