Vixens Close out Home Series with Third Win

SWEET BRIAR, Va. -- The Sweet Briar tennis team defeated Guilford, 7-2, in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference tennis match Friday afternoon at Babcock Tennis Courts in Sweet Briar, Virginia.

The Vixens close out the 2015 on a three-match win streak, having won their last three home matches. Sweet Briar improves to 7-11 overall on the season, and 4-7 in the ODAC. The Quakers fall to 6-8 overall and 3-7 in the conference.

Haley Andrews and Allison Hewitt were able to take number one doubles from AJ Lukanuski and Gina Rutledge, 8-3. While, Caitlin Delmas and Georgia Kirkland fought back in number two doubles making a huge comeback and defeating Fernanda Gonzalez and Nora Prokosch 9-8. 

The Quakers second victory came at number four singles, as Prokosch defeated Anna Colvin, 6-3, 7-6, 5-10.  Adwoa Sika defeated Luci Gordon at number five singles 6-4, 6-2 and Delmas defeated Andrews 6-3, 6-0 at one singles and the Vixens went on for the 7-2 victory.

The Vixens will wait to see if they qualify for the 2015 ODAC Quarterfinals set to start next Saturday.
