DANVILLE, Va.- The Sweet Briar College tennis team began its spring break team at Averett University on Saturday afternoon. The host Cougars came out victorious, 7-2.

The Vixens picked up both of their victories in singles play. Sophomore Anna Colvin won her court three matchup against Jessie Gomes, 6-3, 7-6.

Also picking up a win was senior Megan Johnston. After dropping the first set, 1-6, Johnston rebounded for a 6-0 win in set two. The Powhatan, Va. native then won the tiebreaker, 11-9.

Vixen tennis will now head to Hilton Head Island, S.C. for three spring break matches this week at the Shipyard Racket Club. The first match will be on Tuesday against Thomas More College.
