Softball Continues Conference Play Against Sheandoah

WINCHESTER, Va.- The Sweet Briar College softball team traveled to Shenandoah University for a Sunday afternoon ODAC doubleheader. The Hornets swept the series, 26-0 and 20-2.

Game One

Shenandoah's pitcher Elizabeth Everette held Sweet Briar in check for the entirety of the the first game, limiting the Vixens to just one hit. Junior Rachel Rogers collected that hit with a single in the first inning.

Junior Taylor Fischer pitched the entire game for SBC, striking out one.

Game Two

The Vixens were able to break through in the score column late in game two. With one out in the fifth inning, Rogers collected her second hit of the day, an infield single. One batter later, senior Amanda Terry hit a single to left center, putting runners on first and second.

Senior Kayla Dooms then stepped up a hit a double to left center, scoring both runners and bringing her season RBI total to four.

Junior Erica Orr also picked up a hit and earned a free pass in the contest. First-year Lashlee McCray reached base twice, both by drawing walks.

The Vixens will return to action on Wednesday April 5, with a trip to Randolph College. SBC will then return home on Saturday, April 8, for Senior Day against Eastern Mennonite.
