Sweet Lax Battles With Ferrum

FERRUM, Va.- Playing its first game in the month of April, the Sweet Briar College lacrosse team traveled to Ferrum College for a Thursday night matchup. The host Panthers picked up their sixth win of the season with a 15-0 victory.

Junior Shawnta Sherman set a career high in saves, stopping ten shots and picking up three groundballs in the process.

At the other end of the field, junior Elizabeth Phaup led SBC with two shots and two draw controls. First-years Kierstan Mullins and Victoria Lawson also tallied a shot during the contest. Mullins, a native of Richmond, Va. also corralled two groundballs.

Senior Kiley Jolicoeur and first-year Rosa Bello each registered a groundball and a draw control to help Sweet Briar's efforts in the match. Jolicoueur and classmate Noell Cosby each notched a caused turnover. 

The Vixens will return to action this Wednesday, April 12, when they host nearby conference foe Randolph College. The match is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start at Babcock Field.
