SWEET BRIAR, Va. — A hat trick from sophomore Victoria Lawson was the highlight of Sweet Briar's 18-4 season finale loss to the visiting Davis & Elkins Senators at Babcock Field on Tuesday afternoon.

After the Senators took a 5-0 lead in the opening half, first-year Sally Stooks (Hampton, Va.) tallied her second goal of the season from the free position hash.

Lawson (Shipman, Va.) struck on a free position shot with 12:53 left in the opening period, before scoring a man-up goal at 6:51. Lawson struck with her 21st goal of the season with 29:22 remaining in the second half.

Lawson led Sweet Briar with two ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers on the afternoon.

Sweet Briar senior A'Shawnta Sherman (Richmond, Va.) recorded 12 saves for the Vixens.
