SWEET BRIAR, Va. — The Vixens' sophomore duo of Lacey Tucker and Lexi Culley battled at No. 3 doubles, but Sweet Briar dropped a 5-0 decision to Southern Virginia at the Gymnasium Tennis Courts on Tuesday.

After dropping an 8-1 decision at No. 2 doubles, Sweet Briar fought at No. 3 doubles with Tucker (Swansboro, N.C.) and Culley (Louisa, Va.) coming up short with an 8-5 final tally.

Sophomore Emily Wandling (Mechanicsville, Va.) and senior AJ Lukanuski (Richmond, Va.) suffered a tight 8-4 loss at No. 1.

Two singles matches were completed before the remainder of the match was washed away by rain. 

Sweet Briar returns to conference action on Thursday with a 3 p.m. start scheduled at Lynchburg.
