Wasps top Vixens; Wandling wins twice

BRISTOL, Tenn. — Junior Emily Wandling earned two victories on Sunday as the Vixens dropped a 7-2 decision at the Bristol Racquet & Fitness Club to Emory & Henry.

Sweet Briar (2-12, 0-7 ODAC) picked up a point in doubles action, with Wandling (Mechanicsville, Va.) and junior Lacey Tucker (Swansboro, N.C.) topping Katie Meade and Kaitlyn Sheaves 8-3 at No. 1 doubles.

Singles play saw the Wasps (11-4, 4-4) secure the match with wins at No. 5, No. 4 and No. 6 singles.

With the match decided, No. 1 singles saw Wandling top Meade 6-2, 6-0 for her 34th career victory.

Sweet Briar's season continues on Tuesday, with a 3:30 p.m. match scheduled at Bridgewater.
