SWEET BRIAR, Va. - Sweet Briar tennis successfully concluded its fall campaign with round-robin action against Averett and Methodist at the Van Der Meer Tennis Center today.
 
The Vixens finished the day with five wins in doubles play. The pairing of de Souza/Wandling won both of their doubles matches by scores of 8-2 and 8-4, while Kotany/Patino, Andrade/Guilarte and Kamara/Simhambahtla each won one doubles match on the day.
 
In singles play, Sweet Briar earned 16 victories. Staying undefeated through round-robin play were juniors Sofia Andrade (Latacunga, Ecuador) Ruth de Souza (Marilia, Brazil), Kate Kotany (Erd, Hungary) and Allison Wandling (Mechanicsville, Va.), sophomore Isabela Guilarte (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and first-years Maria Caro (Bogota, Colombia), Mattu Kamara (Freetown City, Sierra Leone) and Ana Patino (Medellín, Colombia).
 
Highlights

• Both Guilarte and Patino never dropped more than two games in a set.
• The pairing of de Souza/Wandling's only loss of the fall slate came in the semifinals of the ITA Southeast Regional Championships.

What's Next
Following the conclusion of action on Sunday, Sweet Briar will begin to prepare for the spring season.
