SWEET BRIAR, Va. — Senior Lily Peterson and sophomore Rachel Perry earned most outstanding performer honors on Saturday as the Vixens cruised to a 7-2 victor over Delaware State at the Harriet Howell Rogers Riding Center.
The Vixens (4-2) opened the day with four points on fences, starting with an 80-74 win by senior Katie Balding (Williamsburg, Va.) on Cardino.
Peterson (Ashland, Va.) picked up the Vixens' second team point, earning MOP honors with a 76-74 victory on Kanye.
Junior Britt Larson-Jackson (Washington, D.C.) earned an 83-80 victory on Asher, while sophomore Kacie Freeburg (Orlando, Fla.) picked up a 78-77 win on Dorado to send the Vixens into flat competition with a 4-1 lead.
On the flat, Larson-Jackson earned an 82-80 victory over Delaware State's Erin Gordon, while Balding won her point 84-79 on Jakson.
Sweet Briar's final team point came when Perry (Rockville, Va.) earned MOP honors for the first time in her collegiate career with an 80-64 victory on Teddy.
Sweet Briar's victory secured the Vixens' first winning season in NCEA competition.
The Vixens now await the arrival of the 2021 NCEA Championships held in Waco, Texas from April 15-17.
