FISHERSVILLE, Va. – The Sweet Briar cross country team raced to a third place finish tonight at the Golden Acorn Invite hosted by Mary Baldwin.
The Vixens were led in the 6k event by sophomore
Angelyn Wiggins (Churchville, Md.) and junior
Lily Terwilliger (Fayetteville, N.C.) who finished 12th and 13th with times of 27:49.5 and 28:08.5, respectively.
Senior
Evie Sparacio (Stroudsburg, Pa.) and junior
Savannah Anderson (Eau Claire, Wis.) also finished right with one another with Sparacio crossing the finish line at the 31:42.4 mark and Anderson at the 31:56.2 mark.
Rounding out the field for Sweet Briar were sophomore
Kae Babcock (Red Lion, Pa.) and senior Dani Peloso (Centreville, Va.). Babcock earned a time of 37:40.9 while Peloso finished the race in 41:27.7.
Highlights
- Wiggins' time becomes the seventh-fastest 6k time in program history while Terwilliger gets in the books at the ninth spot.
- Anderson, Babcock, Terwilliger and Wiggins all cut down on their 6k times from the last outing on Sept. 18 at the NCAA South Regional Preview.
- Anderson saw the biggest drop in time this go around, shaving off nearly three minutes from her previously registered time of 34:39.6.

The Vixens will head to Salem, Va. for the Roanoke XC Invitational on Friday, Oct. 14.
