NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Sweet Briar cross country team wrapped up the 2022 season today with the NCAA South Regional Championships. The Vixens finished in 27th with a time of 2:53.33.
Sophomore
Angelyn Wiggins (Churchville, Md.) led the team with a 129th-place finish after crossing the finish line at the 29:45.8 mark.
Wiggins was followed by junior
Lily Terwilliger (Fayetteville, N.C.) who recorded a total time of 31:39.6.
Coming third for Sweet Briar was junior
Savannah Anderson (Eau Claire, Wis.) who averaged 8:49.9 per mile for a combined time of 32.56.5. Senior
Evie Sparacio (Stroudsburg, Pa.) finished the race in 35:09.6 with an average mile time of 9:25.6.
Rounding out the scoring for the Vixens was senior
Erin Bell Nelson (Greenville, R.I.) who clocked in a time of 44:01.2. Junior
Grace Hall-Matson (Monroe, Va.) registered a time of 45:03.6.
Highlights
- Hall-Matson recorded a new personal-best 6k time today in her first NCAA Regional appearance.
- Today also marked the first NCAA outing for Anderson.

The Vixens will now set their sets on the 2023 season.
