Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar tennis team (2-0, 1-0 ODAC) swept both Ferrum and Meredith today to start the season 2-0.
 
The Vixens started the day off at Ferrum, with the doubles pairings of Kotany/Patino and Guilarte/Wrenn taking down their opponents 8-0. Hurt/Kamara completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 victory over Atkinson/Scott.
 
Sophomore Isabela Guilarte (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) quickly took down Esme Atkinson in straight sets followed by another 6-0, 6-0 victory from sophomore Avery Jones (Union, Conn.) to clinch the victory for Sweet Briar. Also finishing her match in straight sets was junior Kate Kotany (Erd, Hungary) who defeated Megan Scott.
 
First-year Mattu Kamara (Freetown City, Sierra Leone) reigned victorious over Madison Wright, 6-1, 6-0, while fellow first-year Lily Hurt battled for the 1-6, 6-1, 10-5 victory over Emma Loughrey.
 
The Vixens saw the same success at home against Meredith, closing out the day with their second 9-0 victory of the season.
 
The pairing of de Souza/Wandling handily took down Henneberry/Osborne and Caro/Simhambhatla and Alfaro/Andrade won their matches by scores of 8-2 and 8-1, respectively.
 
Senior Alexia Alfaro (Laredo, Texas), juniors Ruth de Souza (Marilia, Brazil) and Nikhita Simhambhatla (Hyderabad, Telangana, India) and first-year Maria Caro (Bogota, Colombia) all won their matches 6-0, 6-0 with Caro clinching the victory.
 
Junior Sofia Andrade (Latacunga, Ecuador) defeated Ellie Osborne, 6-1, 6-0, while fellow junior Allison Wandling (Mechanicsville, Va.) took down Summer Elkins, 6-1, 6-2 to end the day.
