SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College softball team (0-4) will host the William Peace Pacers (2-2) in its home opening doubleheader on Sunday, Feb. 26 at the Softball Field.
Game one of the doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. while game two has a 3 p.m. start time.
The Vixens are coming off games against Guilford and Methodist which saw a total of three RBIs from first-years
Melanie Rees (Partlow, Va.) and
Kaydin Williams (Richlands, N.C.). Six members of the team earned a 1.000 fielding percentage.
Currently first-year
Anna Smith (Rocky Mount, Va.) has seen the most action at the mound with 8.2 total innings pitched.
What to Know
- The Vixens and Pacers have only faced off once before, at the Peace College Triangle Combat Classic in 2010.
- Smith also leads the team with a .556 batting average.
What's Next
The Vixens will take on Southern Virginia at home on Wednesday, March 1 before heading to the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. from March 5-9.
