Carpenter, an environmental science major, earned a total of five first-place finishes throughout the 2022-23 season. She placed 13th at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Swimming Championships in the 1650-yard freestyle with a career-best time of 19:34.45.

An engineering science and mathematics major, ElzHowe placed first in two races this past season. She earned a team-best finish of seventh at the ODAC Championships in 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:16.79 as well as a 13th-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.31.

Lewis, an engineering science major who previously earned All-District recognition as a soccer player, came first in four races this season. The Maryland native placed 14th at the ODAC Championships in 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:39.36, a new career high.

This marks the first CSC Academic All-District honors for both Carpenter and ElzHowe.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.50 and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's meets.

The swimmers now have a chance to be the first in 20 years to receive Academic All-America honors since Lauren Friend '03 earned the nomination while it was an at-large sport in 2003.
