SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College tennis team (0-2, 0-0 ODAC) will open up conference play tomorrow with matches at Shenandoah (1-1, 0-0 ODAC) at 2 p.m. and against Lynchburg (2-2, 1-1 ODAC) at home at 3 p.m.
Starting on Monday, the Vixens will head to Hilton Head, S.C. for the Hilton Head Invite during spring break. The team's first match will take place on Monday, March 6 against Berry.
Sweet Briar is coming off tough matches to the No. 39 TCNJ Lions and the No. 29 Swarthmore Garnet. The two victories against the Garnet came thanks to the doubles pairing of Andrade/Patino and senior
Sofia Andrade (Latacunga, Ecuador). Andrade/Patino took down Kumaran/Watts 8-7(8-6) while Andrade defeated Daniela Padron-Casti at the No. 5 spot in singles, 8-5, to earn the two wins.
Against the Lions, the team saw four singles victories from first-year
Ana Patino (Medellín, Colombia), seniors
Allison Wandling (Mechanicsville, Va.) and Andrade and junior
Isabela Guilarte (Barquisimeto, Guatemala).

- The Vixens have won the last two matches against Shenandoah and the last three against Lynchburg.
- Andrade was named SAAC Student-Athlete of the Week for her performances against nationally ranked TCNJ and Swarthmore.
What's Next
Sweet Briar will continue with action in Hilton Head against Alfred and Allegheny on March 7 and Drew and Gettysburg on March 10.
