SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College tennis team (5-3, 2-0 ODAC) will have a full slate of weekend matches coming up as they host both the Birmingham Southern Panthers (5-3, 0-0 SAA) and the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins (1-2, 0-0 ODAC) on Saturday. The Vixens will then welcome the Ferrum Panthers (1-1, 0-0 ODAC) to the Van Deer Meer Tennis Center as a split squad with half of the team traveling to the Roanoke Maroons (4-4, 1-1 ODAC) on Sunday.
Action against the Panthers will begin at 11 a.m. while Sweet Briar will face off against Virginia Wesleyan at 3 p.m. Both matches on Sunday have an 11 a.m. start time.
The Vixens are coming off a 3-1 spring break which saw victories against Berry (6-2), Allegheny (9-0) and NJCU (8-1). Last Sunday, March 12, Sweet Briar traveled to No. 21 Mary Washington for a match that saw junior
Isabela Guilarte (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) become the first Vixen since 2003 to take her Eagle competitor to three sets. Guilarte was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week for her performance which also included straight-set wins over Allegheny and NJCU and a three-set victory over Berry.

Sweet Briar will travel to Ohio next week to take on Otterbein, No. 29 Denison, No. 12 Case Western Reserve and No. 30 Kenyon, March 24-26.
